Introduction
Hawaii Future Farmers of America State President, 1st Inaugural Punahou Sustainability Fellow, Envrionmentalist, Student Researcher, Hawai‘i Department of Transportation Intern
Hey, my name is Nicholas (Nick) Nishimura. I am 16 years old, a Junior at Waipahu High School, and created this website as a means of documenting my journey and experiences as I navigate high-school life, athletics, professional work, and solving world issues I am truly passionate about. My story starts when I joined the FFA in the latter half of my 7th-grade year. It has been nearly 4 school years since then (as I enter 11th grade), and in those two years, I have gained understanding through opportunities and people that I have been nothing short of blessed to have in my life. I have become the State President of Hawai‘i FFA; a member of the Inaugural Sustainability Fellowship Program at Punahou Schools; and an advocate for agricultural development, sustainability, biofuels, and more here in my home state of Hawai‘i. I currently intern at the Hawai‘i Department of Transportation as I aim to help the state decarbonize its transportation sector, and I hope to eventually begin and run my own business in agricultural innovations, focusing on food production, alternative energy, and more, all before pursuing a career in politics. Outside of the "serious" stuff, I am a competitive wrestler, judoka, and concert pianist, and enjoy spending time with my teammates, family, friends, and girlfriend, Kotone!

Leadership
Hawai‘i FFA, Athletics, Community
For the past 4 years, throughout middle school and my first 2 years of high school, leadership has been a skill and quality of mine that I have constantly aimed to improve upon. Through multiple experiences in student leadership through FFA, extracurricular programs, athletics, and in the community, I have gained valuable skills and insights as a public speaker, problem solver, and collaborator, and have learned even more about myself as a person. Leadership defines me not only as a concept I use to guide others, but as the way I live, guiding myself through my own life.

Vision
What I see for myself; the ten-year picture
Asking anyone, not just a 16-year-old kid, the question "Where do you see yourself 10 years from now?" is a daunting inquiry NO ONE can answer fully. Nobody, including me, can predict their future with exact certainty. Who knows what may happen to us tomorrow, 3 years down the line, next weekend, or even in the next hour? Regardless, I do have a vision of what I see for myself. In 10 years, I'll be 26 years old, (hopefully) gaining a Law Degree or Master's in Business Administration, actively working to cultivate an agricultural tech startup, and jumpstart a future in politics. In 10 years, I'll (optimistically) be using science, business, and leadership to create a positive impact on the world around me. And, In ten years, I (confidently) will still be learning about myself, others, and undergoing transformative learning experiences that will continue to change my worldview. In ten years, I (most definitely) will be working to change the world.

The Website Story
I created this website as a means to document my life as a 16-year-old, hoping to pursue a future in agricultural technology and politics. I hope that in time, this website will be filled with stories, events, projects, blog posts, and images that allow me to tell my story, and all that I am doing in hopes of inspiring others :).
